California Bar Exam Study Guides & Attack Outlines
A study guide explains the landscape. An attack outline helps you decide where to go when a fact pattern gives you limited time.
Explore subject study guidesCompress only after understanding
Read the full topic before compressing it. Identify the threshold questions, the elements of each doctrine and the conditions that lead to exceptions. Shortening a rule before understanding it often removes the very limitation an exam question tests.
Build a one-page sequence of questions in your own words. For a Contracts problem, for instance, first identify the governing body of law and the transaction before moving through formation, defenses, performance and remedies. Your sequence is an organizing tool, not a substitute for a complete rule.
Use checklists to diagnose omissions
After writing an essay outline from memory, compare it with a subject checklist. Mark issues you missed and distinguish between a rule you did not know and a fact trigger you failed to recognize.
Keep a separate California-distinction column where relevant. Do not merge a federal civil procedure rule with a California procedure rule just to make the page shorter. Labeling the source helps prevent answering the wrong question accurately.
Match the guide to the package
Single-subject packages unlock the selected library. Essentials includes all 14 core libraries, and Complete adds the premium study tools and strategy resources shown below. Printable subject materials remain subject to your existing access.
Use the subject hub to see what each library covers before purchase. The public summaries explain study tasks; they do not expose the full purchased outlines or manufacture a free entitlement.
